Dear Partners in Ministry,
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” Luke 1:30-33
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
We bring you greetings from Accra, Ghana and a special salutation from Crossroads Baptist Church. For more interesting posts, you can now read this blog post about the best affordable road bike.
The year 2013, was one of great blessings and thanksgiving. As a family, we praise the Lord for good health and sustaining power over our lives. Though there were a few times that we had some minor sicknesses and a few challenges but in it all we give thanks to the Lord.
Ministry here Accra, is doing well. Over the last few months we have seen many come to the saving knowledge of the Lord, Jesus. We have baptized five (5) souls to the glory of the Lord. We have had many people visiting our church over these past months. VBS in August, was wonderful, we had over 400 kids come to VBS and had 145 of these kids confessed Christ as Saviour and Lord. TO GOD BE THE GLORY! We praise the Lord that some of these kids are seriously in attendance now at church. Pray with us as we await permission from our landlords (where we meet for service) to give us an extra day for our Kids Club. We are praying to start as soon as the permission goes through.
Over the past few months our church has had a challenge of members been transferred for work, school or otherwise in parts of the city or Ghana. At a point we had three families moved at the same time from the church and in fact that was a great challenge for us since the church is young.
We praise the Lord for new opportunities He’s given me this year. I have had the privilege of frequently speaking (sharing the Word) in two private schools and one public school. We pray that the number of schools will increase in the New Year.
We praise the Lord for the first graduation ceremony of the New Life Baptist Bible Institute. We had five students passing out this year, three men and two ladies. And were blessed with two more new students this year and thankful to God for that. It is a joy to share the blessings of the Word to faithful men who have given themselves over to the Lord and His ministry.
Please allow us to use this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation to you for your support and prayers for us over these years. Your prayers and support have kept us strong and encouraged in the ministry of our Great God. We are trusting to attempt even greater things for Him and trust that He will bless. Please pray for us.
We love you all and God bless!
Prayer Request:
- Continue to pray with as a family as we raise more support. We are at %40 of our support.
- One of our greatest prayer request over the years is for the church to get its own place of worship please pray with us in that direction. (A church land)
- We are praying to raise $400 left to purchase 30 more chairs for our church in January 2014. Please pray with us.
In Christ Alone,
Josiah & Mary Abedu Kennedy
